Midlands law firm MFG Solicitors (MFG) are offering free
seminars to the region's farmers and rural businesses giving advice
on important changes to rural legal issues and tax matters.
MFG, in partnership with the Country Land & Business
Association (CLA), will be running a number of seminars which are
taking place at three different Midlands locations, all beginning
at 16:30. These are:
Tuesday 22nd March: Mytton & Mermaid Hotel, Atcham,
Shrewsbury
Thursday 24th March: Sixways Stadium, Worcester
Thursday 31st March: Chillington Hall, Brewood,
Staffordshire
The two-hour events will cover topics such as the abolition of
the Agricultural Wages Board, agency workers regulations, farming
tenancies and taxation.
Iain Morrison, partner and a specialist in agricultural law at
MFG Solicitors said: "It's vital to advise the region's farmers on
the big legislative changes which will affect them. There are
significant changes coming in this year and we hope these free
seminars will attract strong interest. Along with the CLA, we want
to share our expert knowledge, reflect on the issues that are
worrying our rural communities and most importantly, ensure people
go away feeling informed and confident about the future."
The topics we have selected for the seminars will reflect on
impending issues affecting rural communities including employment
matters, tax complexities surrounding farm estates and expert
presentations on the abolition of the Agricultural Wages Board and
farm tenancies.
Mr Morrison added: "It's no secret that for a number of years,
some farmers and rural businesses across the Midlands have faced
difficult times. However, agriculture forms one of the region's
economic cornerstones and therefore we are happy to contribute by
giving free, professional legal advice."
Each of the seminars is free to attend and refreshments will be
provided. Places are limited. Those wishing to attend any of the
three events can contact Elizabeth Wiltshire at MFG on 01905 734039
or elizabeth.wiltshire@mfgsolicitors.com
The seminars are held in partnership with the Country Land &
Business Association (CLA), property consultants Balfours,
Chartered Accountants Fisher German and specialist chartered
surveyors and land agents Smiths Gore.
