Intense demand for new homes on a landmark eco development has
culminated with the reservation of the last house in the
scheme.
Despite the still fluctuating housing market, all the houses at
the sustainable development Green Street in The Meadows,
Nottingham, have been sold "off plan" within just a year of going
to market.
The mixture of 38 three-and-four bed contemporary town houses
were snapped up at a phenomenal rate, bucking market trends and
establishing the demand for a new era of design-led eco homes.
The first two phases astonished by selling entirely off plan
three months before the first house reached completion, and the
first nine houses from the final phase released at the end of
January all found buyers within 72 hours.
The homes were sold nationally by Savills via their Nottingham
office and locally by Royston and Lund in West Bridgford.
Andrew Galloway, a chartered surveyor at Savills, said: "We were
committed to Blueprint's new generation of housing since conception
stage. They have raised the bar for new build residential
development in the Midlands, and the public have proved their
commitment to green living by reserving all the dwellings off plan
and within a year of release.
"We could sell this scheme three times over and look forward to
Blueprint announcing their next exciting project over the
forthcoming months."
Following the overwhelming success of Green Street, Blueprint is
now working on plans for a similar urban eco-homes development on a
city centre site.
Development director John Long, from Blueprint, said: "It's
early days, but experience at Green Street shows people want to buy
these types of houses off-plan, and with our next development,
we're hoping to offer the option of bespoke design and layout for
each house buyer."
Multi-award winning developer Blueprint, based in Nottingham,
has been responsible for two other major schemes on brown field
sites - No.1 Nottingham Science Park, off University Boulevard, and
Phoenix Square in Leicester, which comprises homes, office studios,
independent arts cinema and a café bar.
