The Pension Act 2008 is due to come into force in 2012, and with
this comes the legal duty on employers to ensure that they enrol
most employees into a pension scheme and contribute to their
retirement. The countdown has already begun, but are employers
ready for these compulsory pensions?
This important issue will be the topic of an Employment Law
& Pensions Seminar to be provided free of charge in Hereford by
local law firm Lanyon Bowdler, in association with Torquil Clark.
The event will take place on Tuesday 22 March at Hereford Group
Training Association.
Ian Hill, Pensions Technical Manager of Torquil Clark will be
providing valuable guidance in respect of the forthcoming
compulsory requirement for employers to contribute to employees'
pensions.
John Merry, the head of Lanyon Bowdler's Employment department
will focus on the employment law aspects of pension changes,
including managing salary reviews to achieve economies to off-set
pension costs, and also the impact of pensions on maternity and
paternity rights. In addition, John will provide a general
employment law update.
The seminar will commence at 9.00am, with presentations starting
at 9.30am, closing at approximately 1.00pm, and food and
refreshments will be provided.
