Staff from Furrows of Shrewsbury have set themselves a tough
challenge for Red Nose Day - they'll be pushing a bed right around
the county town.
The Kia sales team from the Harlescott Lane dealership will take
to the streets on Friday, March 18, to raise as much money as
possible for the appeal.
Kia retail and fleet specialist, Adrian Brand, who is organising
the event, said: "We wanted to set ourselves a testing but fun
charity challenge, but we couldn't decide which cause to raise
money for.
"So when Kia once again confirmed they would be one of the major
sponsors of Red Nose Day, we chose to support this year's
appeal.
"We came up with the idea of the bed push after lots of
discussions, and we're all looking forward to pushing ourselves to
the limit!
"We have already received incredible support since we announced
the challenge, with lots of sponsorship pledges coming in, and
we'll also be collecting as we go around the town."
The challenge will start from the Pride Hill Shopping Centre, at
12.30pm, with a half-hour stop in the Market Square at 1pm, and
follow a route through the town to finish at the headquarters of
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Furrows group sales manager, Dave Farthing, said: "It's great to
see members of our team supporting such a good cause, and we're
hoping such a high profile effort will help to raise as much money
as possible for Red Nose Day."
