Hume Training Ltd have announced the launch of five new courses
with arranged work placements aimed specifically at IT, Media and
Marketing graduates and professionals looking for careers and work
placements in creative industries. These new training courses start
in April and will commence in the heart of Birmingham's "digital
quarter" in Fazeley Studios, Digbeth. These professional training
courses with work placement allow participants to upgrade their
digital media skills and to consolidate their learning in the
burgeoning and challenging commercial digital media arena.
Hume Training has already established an enviable number of
strong, commercial links with established businesses operating in
the digital arena. Chief Executive of Hume Training, Dr Ekaterina
Thomas, explained "We have been working hard to identify current
and future skills shortages and it is apparent that the digital
media arena is struggling to find appropriately qualified and
experienced people to satisfy not only their current demand, but
their expected demand as well."
A key part of Hume's new training courses is that they all offer
a period of work placement for course participants in a digital
media business. "It is fundamental to potential employers in this
sector" said Dr Thomas, "for a course participant to be able to
claim not only the theoretical and academic knowledge, but to be
able to demonstrate practical experience as well; it is this which
makes that individual significantly more employable than would be
the case without such work experience."
Hume has been working very closely with The Institute of
Commercial Management in the development of the courses, and all
courses are fully accredited by the Institute. They have been
developed by leading academics working in conjunction with
commercial and industry specialists.
