Eight team members from integrated marketing consultancy HROC
have signed up for the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge in aid of
CLIC Sargent, a national charity supporting children and their
families living with cancer.
The challenge starts on Friday 10th June in Scotland, finishing
a day later in Wales. The aim of the challenge is to scale Ben
Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the three highest mountains in
Scotland, England and Wales within a 24-hour time period.
The team of volunteers comes from across the business and aims
to raise £5000 for the charity.
Andy Aston, Planning Director at HROC said "This is a massive
challenge for all of us but we are really looking forward to it.
The hardest part so far has been finding someone willing to drive
the minibus, although I suspect the lack of sleep and physical and
mental stress will take its toll soon enough.
"We are already training hard for the challenge and have
ambitious targets to complete it within the 24-hour limit and to
raise as much money as possible for this very worthwhile
charity".
Every day 10 families are told the devastating news that their
child has cancer. CLIC Sargent is the only charity offering them
care and support every step of the way.
A just giving website has been set up
http://www.justgiving.com/hroc3peaks for anyone wishing to support
the team.
HROC is a Birmingham based integrated communications agency
offering advertising, design, PR, digital and media planning and
buying services.
