Employees at Hortons' Estate Limited have gone the extra mile to
raise essential funds for Cancer Research UK.
Over £3,800 was raised during 2010 through a variety of
activities including Hortons' annual quiz, which tested the TV
knowledge of property professionals in the Midlands, as well as a
super hero effort by Melissa Spence and Neale Powell, who took to
the streets to complete the Great North Run dressed as Superman and
Supergirl.
The proceeds were recently given to the charity at a special
presentation at Hortons' offices.
Melissa Spence, a property manager at Hortons, said: "We would
like to thank everyone who took part in all our fundraising
activities and we are extremely proud to have raised essential
funds for Cancer Research UK."
The charity is one of the world's leading organisations,
dedicated to beating cancer through research and the monies raised
will help fund groundbreaking work to find new ways to prevent,
diagnose and treat cancer.
Sajedah Patel, area volunteer manager from Cancer Research UK,
added: "The money we have received from Hortons will make a real
difference to the work of the charity and we are extremely grateful
for everyone's support."
