A Lincolnshire nursery is celebrating a right Royal deal!
The British Hardwood Tree Nursery is doing its bit to keep
London's green spaces in tip-top condition, after supplying The
Royal Parks with 6,500 hedging plants and 60 six-foot high
trees.
The prestigious order marks the third year in a row that British
Hardwood has has provided stock for the Royal Parks, which are free
to visit and which attract thousands of naturelovers and
leisure-seekers every year.
The Royal Parks is an executive agency of the Department for
Culture, Media and Sport and it manages St James's, Green, Hyde,
Richmond, Greenwich, Regent's and Bushy Parks, Kensington
Gardens and also Brompton Cemetery.
And that means being responsible for 5,000 acres of historic
parkland, which attract walkers, picnickers, school parties and
events managers.
And in 2012, the profile of The Royal Parks will be raised
even higher, when individual parks provide the setting for events
in the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
British Hardwood Tree Nursery managing director Andrew Henderson
said: "The trees and hedging which we have supplied will be used
across Regent's Park and Primrose Hill.
"The Royal Parks is a highly prestigious client and we are
delighted that it placed repeat business with us."
The British Hardwood Tree Nursery order was for the supply of
hedging plants and trees, but the business also provides contract
planting where necessary. Customers include farming, environmental
and amenity businesses UK-wide.
Mr Henderson added that the Nursery has been enjoying
particularly good sales, following a challenging start to the
traditional tree-planting season when harsh Winter weather
delayed landscaping projects around the UK.
