Housing and regeneration group LHA-ASRA has strengthened its
board by appointing a new group company secretary.
Martin Lewis has joined Leicester-based LHA-ASRA with 14 years
of experience in the social housing sector, working for
organisations based in the Cotswolds, Swindon, Oxfordshire and
Birmingham .
Before taking on his new role, for three years, Mr Lewis worked
for the UK 's largest foster care agency, Core Assets Group,
formerly Foster Core Associates.
Prior to this he worked in the in the PFI investments division
for Interserve Plc. Here he was responsible for monitoring the
legal and governance compliance for 13 infrastructure project
companies including prisons, hospitals and schools. Martin is one
of only a handful of company secretary's to specialise in this type
of work.
His new role includes providing a point of communication between
the board of directors and company shareholders, to ensure
compliance with standard financial and legal practice and maintain
corporate governance.
Martin grew up in the Cotswolds, relocated to the Birmingham
area in 2000 and studied to be a chartered secretary at Worcester
Technical College .
He is also an associate member of the Institute of Chartered
Secretaries and Administrators.
