The Building Consultancy team at GVA's Birmingham office has
appointed Norman Wright as senior surveyor, taking the team up to a
record size of 18.
A Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS),
Norman joins GVA with over 25 years' experience in the building
surveying industry, having advised on building contracts,
dilapidations and project management for both public and private
sector companies throughout the UK. Norman worked for Lambert Smith
Hampton for 22 years up until 2006, having been a director from
1997 onwards. He joins GVA from BNP Paribas Real Estate.
David Martin, a director at GVA within the Building Consultancy
team, said: "As a former director in this field, Norman brings with
him significant experience. He will enhance our professional and
project offering, as well as aiding us in meeting the increasing
demand for our services, especially acquisition survey reports and
preparation of dilapidation schedules.
"The Building Consultancy team has seen year on year growth in
what is still a very challenging marketplace. This strong growth is
testament to the track record and reputation the team has earned in
the region."
Norman Wright, senior surveyor at GVA said: "I am delighted to
be joining the team at GVA's Birmingham office, as they are widely
regarded as the leading building consultancy team in Birmingham,
working with investors, landlords and tenants alike. GVA's Building
Consultancy team is enjoying sustained growth at a time when others
in the industry have experienced some decline. I am really looking
forward to the challenges of this new role."
GVA's Building Consultancy team reports continuing activity in
the provision of acquisition surveys, which are crucial in
providing analysis on the structure and fabric of a building. The
technical surveys provide due diligence advice in terms of
reviewing documentation and can give an indication of costs against
any required work. Institutional fund managers, charities, private
individuals and property developers are amongst those who have
recently commissioned these detailed reports by GVA, prior to
proceeding with a commercial property acquisition.
Clients for the team include Helical Bar, AXA, CBREI, Hermes and
F&C Reit.
