A key member of GVA's Birmingham team has been appointed as
national chairman of the Association of Women in Property.
Monique Royle, an associate in GVA's Hotels & Leisure team,
is now in post, succeeding previous chair Lynette Lackey. Monique
has extensive experience with the organisation, having previously
held the position of branch chairman for the West Midlands.
Monique said: "I am hugely honoured to be stepping into the role
of national chairman of Women in Property. With the Government
scrutinising business to ensure appropriate representation of women
in the boardroom, my appointment has come at an important time and
I am now looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that
this role will provide."
Alongside ensuring diversity in the workplace, Women in Property
is also committed to narrowing the gap between education and the
property industry, and has developed significant relationships with
universities and students to ensure the development of potential
future high-flyers.
Ian Stringer, regional senior director of the Birmingham office
of GVA: "I know that I speak for everyone here at the Birmingham
office when I say how happy we are for Monique on her appointment.
As an organisation, GVA is committed to ensuring diversity within
the workplace and I know that Monique has the focus and
determination to ensure that her time as chairman of Women in
Property is a substantial success."
The Association of Women in Property was formed in 1987 as a
networking platform for professional women in the property sector
and now has over 1,400 members across 12 branches nationwide.
