A pallet delivery service based in Birmingham is looking to lift
its business to new levels as it becomes increasingly familiar with
countries all over Europe.
Palletline Logistics (Midlands) Limited provides a delivery
service to all 27 European Union countries from its premises in
Bromford Lane.
Managing director Bob Russett, whose company is backed by
Yorkshire Bank's Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Birmingham,
said its continental traffic and storage service operations are
both growing sides of the business.
"UK businesses export throughout Europe and when we were looking
to grow our business, we decided to offer a one-stop service for
companies that export to all 27 countries in the EU," he said.
"Some pallet delivery service companies go to the more popular
countries in western Europe but there are very few that head to all
EU member states.
"Trading in Europe is very reliant on UK exports which are
starting to pick up and that has a positive knock-on effect on the
volume of business we deal with."
"We can deliver goods to anywhere in Europe within three or four
days but the more popular European towns and conurbations can be
reached in 24 or 48 hours.
"We are looking to expand further in the coming months and
maintain our steady growth and I see our work on the continent, as
well as our storage services, being areas of major growth in the
coming months."
Co-founder Bob, who bought Palletline Logistics from his three
partners in 2006, said the arrival of a new sales manager has also
had a significant impact and that the core of the company's
business remained as a specialist in providing a pallet delivery
service throughout the UK from its hub in Bromford Central.
"We employ 60 people and our high-tech logistics systems are
instrumental in tracking the delivery of pallets every step of the
way from our depot to their safe arrival," he added.
Nigel Wood, business banking parter at Yorkshire Bank's FSC in
Temple Row, said the Midlands was a great location as a central
meeting point to deliver goods throughout Europe and the UK.
"Palletline Logistics has spotted a gap in a competitive market
to deliver goods to every single EU country," he said.
"Exporting is an area that more manufacturers, distributers and
retailers are looking towards which not only expands their own
businesses but also puts our economy on a more level playing field
in terms of importing and exporting.
"That means they need a reliable company to meet their
distribution needs and Palletline Logistics has the technology and
expertise to ensure safe arrival whether that is sending pallets to
Luton or Latvia."
