The Craythorne Golf Club is swinging into action this weekend
with its first ever family fun day.
Open to all, the family fun day will tee off at 11am on Sunday
(27th March) and will be raising funds for Midlands Air Ambulance,
the Club's Charity of Choice for 2011.
Throughout the day children will be invited to climb on board
the Midlands Air Ambulance heli-pod (a decommissioned helicopter)
and learn all about the rapid response Charity that is celebrating
two decades of service this year.
Club Captain Bill Adams and Ladies Captain Debbie Eaglefield
named the air ambulance as their favoured Charity in January and
have already raised over £1,000 through tin collections
alone.
"The Club always tries to support charities that it feels could
make a real difference to local communities so this year Debbie and
I chose Midlands Air Ambulance, after all you never know when
you're going to need it!" says 66 year old Bill.
The fun day aims to raise funds through a homemade cake sale, a
BBQ, tombola and raffle. For just a £1 stake in the Charity
raffle people can win a three night stay at a top hotel, a day at
Uttoxeter Races, Symphony Hall concert tickets and a relaxation day
at Eden Spa, Hoarcross Hall.
Youngsters will also have the opportunity to get their face
painted and have a turn on the bouncy castle before participating
in a balloon race to see whose balloon can travel the
furthest.
Proving to be a busy day the 18 hole golf course will be open to
non-members for a reduced green fee during the afternoon and
professional golfers will be on hand to give advice on the perfect
swing.
Entry to the family fun day is free and there is parking on
site. The Craythorne Golf Club is located on Craythorne Road in
Rolleston on Dove. For more information call 01283
