Expert to train businesses in correctly recruiting foreign workers 'from the start' following nearby raid

Business immigration solicitor, Liz Carney of Alsters Kelley LLP, wants Coventry and Warwickshire employers to be aware that specialist help is available in hiring foreign workers, following a recent high profile raid where UKBA officers found 19 illegal workers at a Leicester clothing manufacturer.

To add to the expertise of the Employment and Immigration Law departments, Ms Carney is on hand to advise on all aspects of business immigration for employers and employees and will offer training courses for employers wishing to keep updated with the legal procedures in hiring foreign workers. This will cover applications for the necessary documentation, maintenance of documentation and the employee sponsorship process.

"This recent case in Leicester demonstrates that if employers don't comply with their duties under Immigration rules, the consequences can be severe. In this case, the owner could be at risk of a fine as high as £190,000" said Ms Carney.

"Employers should know that in the long term, it is safer, more efficient and cost effective to recruit correctly from the start."

To register your interest in a training course or if you would like legal advice on business immigration or employment matters, please contact Liz Carney at liz.carney@alsterskelley.com or on 0844 561 0138.
