National audit, tax and advisory firm Crowe Clark Whitehill has
confirmed today that it is taking one floor of the
newly-refurbished Black Country House, Rounds Green Road,
Oldbury.
Midlands managing partner Johnathan Dudley said: "Rather than
being city centre based, our location and accessibility to clients
has been a high priority to us for the last 20 years.
"Our Midlands offices in Kidderminster and Walsall have served
us well, but for some time, we have wanted to bring the two
together to create a centre of excellence for our audit, tax and
advisory services.
"Being based in Black Country House, we will achieve this while
maintaining both that all important accessibility, in terms of
roads and rail links, and plentiful on-site car parking.
"From our new location, our clients in Staffordshire to the
north, Worcestershire to the south, Warwickshire and
Northamptonshire to the east and Herefordshire to the west will be
within even easier reach of all our partners and staff.
"Uniting in one location will help bring to fruition our plans
to further develop specialist and value added services that will
remain both convenient and cost effective and will be delivered 'in
partnership' with our clients.
"We take pride in being a local office of Crowe Clark Whitehill
and relish the challenge of helping our clients play a lead role in
the regeneration and future prosperity of not just the Black
Country but the Midlands region as a whole."
Crowe Clark Whitehill has taken nearly a third of the office
space at the iconic Black Country House.
Walsall-based developer Goold Estates has only just completed
the £1.4 million comprehensive refurbishment of the
façade, reception area, common parts, new lifts and the
second floor office area this month.
Dominic Goold, managing director of Goold Estates, said: "Our
new tenant will be occupying the whole of the first floor, 10,500
sq ft, which we are fitting out to meet their exact requirements.
We are clearly delighted to have secured such a quality tenant so
soon after completion of the works.
"The building was originally the headquarters of Accles and
Pollock, famous for building the world's first all-metal aircraft.
As part of the refurbishment we have commissioned a montage of
photographs from those days as a feature within the new reception
area to act as a reminder of the buildings rich heritage."
Kelvin Craddock of Jones Lang LaSalle, joint letting agent with
Knight Frank, added: "The building has been totally transformed
internally and externally.
"The reception area is now modern and airy while the fitted
office space includes both air conditioning and raised flooring.
The large floor plates have been a major attraction - a rare
commodity in buildings in this area generally. Remaining suites are
available from 1,012 sq ft up to 20,000 sq ft at an affordable
rent."
Goold Estates are a rare breed of developers carrying out
speculative development at the present time and have achieved
similar success on other developments.
