The flying display line-up for this year's Cosford Air Show is set to feature a host of top aircraft and spectacular aerobatic teams, organisers revealed today.

A five-hour flying display wows the crowds at the event on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border every year and 2011 will see dozens of aircraft from all ages of flight coming together for an afternoon of entertainment.

Among the stars taking to the air will be the Hawk, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, a Tutor, a Tucano, an F-86 Sabre, the Avro Vulcan a Spitfire and a Hurricane.

And the jaw-dropping aerobatic teams will be back - with a few new acts to add to the entertainment.

Bill Hartree, flying display director, said: "We will see the Blades back in the air, the RAF Falcons, the Royal Navy Black Cats and of course the much-loved Red Arrows.

"We will also welcome the Tiger Club's Turbulent Display Team - one of the longest-established flying display teams in the world, new act the Swip Team in the form of the Twister Duo, and O'Brien's Flying Circus which is renowned for its exciting and awe-inspiring 'crazy flying' display.

"We continue to work on the line-up as we count down to the show and more aircraft will be coming on board. We very much hope to see the Typhoon in this year's display."

And as well as the excitement in the air the crowds will also be able to enjoy a wide variety of entertainment on the ground with a fun fair, craft fair, market and aircraft exhibitions - as well as entry to the RAF museum.

Tickets will be £25.00 on the gate, only cash can be accepted, and £19.00 in advance. Tickets are free for children under 16 when they are accompanied by an adult.

Postal bookings should be received on or before June 5, 2011, and all major credit cards are accepted on the 24-hour Cosford Air Show Ticket Line on 0871 230 1083.

Tickets are also available from the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford, Shropshire Star offices in Shrewsbury, Hereford, Newport, Bridgnorth, Oswestry and Ludlow, Tourist Information Centres in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford and Birmingham and in Mid Counties Co-Operative stores.
