today announced that its Valentine Charity Ball has raised
£7500. The event was held to benefit BLESMA (the British
Limbless Ex-Servicemen's Association) and took place at Keele Hall,
Staffordshire on February 11th.
The black-tie event proved to be an action packed affair and
guests were treated to a four-course meal, a disco, entertainment
from comedian John Martin and a prize draw, with all proceeds going
to charity.
In addition to the fantastic turnout there was no shortage of
support from local businesses who donated prizes for the prize draw
including Best Western Stoke-on-Trent Moat House, Steelite
International Community Giving Scheme who donated two tickets to
the Regent Theatre, Cheshire's Essence Beauty and Relaxation Salon,
The New Vic Theatre, Keele Hall, Venture Photography, Alsager Golf
and Country Club, Trentham Golf Club and prizes were also donated
by The Tower Of London.
Maitland Hyslop MD of Internet Central said: "We're more than
delighted with the amount of money that was raised. It's all going
to a great cause and we hope that it will go a long way to
improving the lives of ex-service men and women. I'd like to thank
all those who attended for helping us to raise these funds and hope
that everyone had an enjoyable evening."
Mike Downes, BLESMA Area Welfare Officer for the North West and
Ireland who received the cheque on behalf of BLESMA commented: "The
Valentine Ball raised a tremendous sum of money. We are so very
grateful to receive this wonderful amount from Internet Central and
all their guests on the night. Internet Central has done a
fantastic job in raising this money, and every penny will go a long
way in helping the Charity to fulfil its objectives in helping
limbless veterans. This is a fantastic way to start 2011."
Due to the success of the ball Internet Central is now proposing
to host an annual Valentine Charity Ball and the next event will be
on Friday 10 February 2012 and all proceeds will go towards
National Memorial Arboretum, home to the moving Armed Forces
Memorial. More information and tickets are available from
