A DVD setting out the wide range of services they provide has
been produced by BHSF, the Birmingham-based, not-for-profit health
insurer.
It spells out the award winning programme of benefits it offers,
including health insurance plans for the family in which customers
can claim cash back towards the cost of dental check-ups and
treatment, eye-test, new glasses and contact lenses, for therapy
treatments such as physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropody and much
more.
BHSF Limited is a market-leading health insurer which can trace
its history back to a charity, The Birmingham Hospital Saturday
Fund, which started in 1873 to help fund Birmingham hospitals.
Now, BHSF insures 400,000 people through 250,000 policies. The
DVD explains how these customers are helped with their everyday
health costs - that do not come free or easy on the NHS.
Chief executive Peter Maskell said: "The DVD has been produced
to help people understand the benefits of being part of BHSF. The
DVD has information on who we are and embodies our vision mission
and values."
BHSF has brought its not-for-profit philosophy to the marketing
of other health-related products and HR services including absence
management, employee assistance programmes, personal accident
insurance, annual travel insurance, Care4 life insurance and
Plan4Life cancer insurance.
Sales and Marketing director Brian Hall said: "Importantly, the
DVD carries the verdict of our customers and other stakeholders. We
have produced it to help those people seeking ethical and
purposeful suppliers who will partner them at troubled
times."
Three quarters of BHSF's business is transacted through
employers who pay the premiums for their employees or alternatively
offer payroll-deduction arrangements. Employees therefore enjoy
corporate rates which are heavily discounted. The remaining
policies are paid by direct debit."
Anyone having a commercial relationship with BHSF is welcome to
a copy of the DVD, gratis, on application to the Company Secretary
at BHSF, Gamgee House, 2 Darnley Road, Birmingham, B16 8TE.
