A special Barclays Business bus will visit Victoria Square in
Birmingham on Friday 1st April to bring the bank's £450,000
'Take One Small Step' business competition to life. The competition
encourages everyone ranging from a well-established business to
those with just a great business idea to enter and win one of 9
prizes worth £50,000*.
The bus will contain all the information needed to enter the
competition, with Barclays Business experts on hand to provide
general business advice to help get those ideas moving.
Greg McCall, Barclays Business area manager for Birmingham said:
"This is the second phenomenal year for the Take One Small Step
competition, which last year unearthed some incredible business
ideas. Once again this year we're looking to find a great local
business or someone with a new and exciting business opportunity,
and put £50,000 towards making their business dream a
reality. I'd encourage anyone to get involved in the competition,
but it would be fantastic if someone from Birmingham won the
prize!"
Information about the online competition, or to register and
enter, is available on www.takeonesmallstep.co.uk. On the site
entrants put their inspirational idea into words to catch the
judges' eye, and they can also choose to make a short video clip to
bring their entry to life. The ultimate winners will be chosen by
public vote and announced in July.
Competition closes for entries on the 27th April. It is open to
residents of Great Britain aged 18 and over at the time of entry
excluding regional winners from the 2010 Take One Small Step
competition. Business should be based in Great Britain.
*Terms and conditions apply. We'll deposit the first
£10,000 into a Barclays Business Account. After that our
Barclays Business Managers will work with winners to help them make
the best use of the money within the first 12 months to boost their
business idea.
Entry is open to residents of Great Britain aged 18 and over
at the time of entry excluding regional winners from the 2010 Take
One Small Step competition. Your business or proposed
business/trading address must be in Great Britain (if the business
is or would be a company, then the company's registered address
must be in Great Britain).
