Barclays Corporate has announced the appointment of Ashley Cooper as Corporate Director who will head up the Birmingham Medium Corporate team.

Ashley will be responsible for leading a team which specialises in providing financial services to corporate businesses in the city and joins Corporate Director's Fraser Mackay, Richard Craven and Alison Gray.

Ashley rejoins Barclays after a four year period with Yorkshire Bank in the city. Ashley previously worked for Barclays In the Black Country  and Worcestershire where much of his time was spent in the corporate and commercial finance arena. 

Commenting on his appointment, Ashley said: "I am delighted at being offered the opportunity to take charge of  the Medium Corporate Business Team in this area. It's my home city and therefore an area I know well. I admire Barclays commitment to providing excellent customer service and its specialist industry propositions. My main objective is to grow Barclays' competitive position by increasing commercial activity at a time of increased opportunity."

Ashley is married with one daughter. His hobbies include most sports and following West Bromwich Albion.
