Automated spectacle insurance provides opticians with an 'easy' extra income

A completely new concept in spectacle insurance that is fully automated at the point of sale has been launched to opticians in the UK.

Spearheaded by Midlands leading practice management software specialist See20/20 and Kettering based Performance Finance, SpecsCare offers patients the best cover available at a very low cost and provides the optician with a valuable additional income stream from their existing patient base.

With a charging scale starting from £2.99, a patient can insure their prescription and non-prescription spectacles or sunglasses against loss, theft and accidental damage both in the UK and abroad.

Importantly, this means practices can earn from £1.00 per policy every month. For example, based on 30 new policies per month, users could, after two years, be generating an additional £720.00 per month net profit (an extra £8640.00 per year.)

Designed to be processed in a matter of seconds, SpecsCare also provides an in-depth management reporting tool to measure its overall performance in practice.

Stuart Burn, director of SpecsCare says a convenient and paperless approach is long overdue in the industry.

"Practice managers have been calling for an easier method of offering comprehensive spectacle insurance to their patients for the last two years," he said.

"Now, opticians can instantly process spectacle insurance online without the additional requirement of filling out unnecessary paperwork.

"Another benefit to opticians arises from patients having to return to the original place of purchase to make a claim, which proactively supports customer loyalty.

"With speed and efficiency in mind for both patients and users, this application makes insurance cover even faster to process than ever before in the optical industry."
