UK Trade & Investment is inviting British businesses in the
West Midlands to find out how they can develop their export
potential in the dynamic Middle Eastern markets.
UKTI is hosting Partner ME - an event which will allow
businesses looking to develop their export activities in the Middle
East to speak to experts from business support organisations based
in and focussing on the Middle East.
The West Midlands event will take place at Birmingham City
Council House between 12pm and 2pm on Wednesday 9 March.
Attendees will have the chance to quiz UKTI experts on what
opportunities are available in the Middle East, as well as gain a
valuable insight into the different ways of doing business in
various Middle East countries.
One company which attended last year's Partner ME event was
Weatherite Manufacturing Ltd, from West Bromwich. The company is an
air conditioning equipment manufacturer which has developed an
energy efficient trigeneration Energy Centre incorporating a
revolutionary ADsorption chiller - and wanted to target its
products at the hot climates of Middle East countries.
It attended Partner ME as part of the Passport to Export
programme of support from UKTI and has since gone on to secure a
Middle East agent and exhibit at international construction show
Dubai's Big 5 last year where it won a prestigious GAIA
sustainability award.
Robert Boswell, Weatherite group commercial director, said the
event had been the perfect starting point for doing business in the
Middle East:
"Attending an event like this is imperative for anyone wanting
to export to the Middle East.
"It is vital, not only to get an idea of the business which is
out there, but also to learn about the other cultures you have to
embrace in a business situation.
"The experts have a vast knowledge of the culture of the area
and how to do business there - it can be very different from doing
business in Europe. And Paul Keeling, our international trade
adviser, has been such a great ambassador for us and what we are
doing."
The event will focus on business opportunities in the following
markets:
UAE, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Qatar, Lebanon, Bahrain, Oman,
Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt and Palestine.
