Aviva Investors, advised by global real estate services firm,
DTZ has secured a 22,000 sq ft office letting at the prestigious
Eagle Court development at Hatchford Brook in Birmingham to Virgin
Media.
DTZ's Birmingham-based office agency team has agreed the lease
on the building. Virgin Media initially took 11,000 sq ft of space
in early 2010 and opted to expand into 11,000 sq ft later in the
year to consolidate a number of its regional offices.
Eagle Court comprises three high specification office buildings
situated off junction 6 of the M42 and seven miles from Birmingham
city centre. The development is already home to Lloyds TSB and TSB
Autolease.
Matthew Long, Associate Director at DTZ in Birmingham,
commented: "Eagle Court was specifically designed to accommodate
medium sized businesses to large corporations. This, coupled with
the availability of high quality office space in an accessible
location with ample car parking, meant it was the perfect fit for
Virgin Media's requirements."
Virgin Media is the UK's leading entertainment and
communications company and provider of television, home phone,
mobile and broadband services.
Paul Harris, Executive Director of Property at Virgin Media,
said: "By relocating to Eagle Court we have been able to access
great quality accommodation whilst providing the business with a
cost effective solution to facilitate the further consolidation of
our existing property portfolio. We were attracted by the
flexibility and physical appearance of the building, and the
floorplates provided the business with the utilisation options it
required."
CBRE and KWB together with DTZ are joint agents at Eagle
Court.
