Notts building and restoration firm Bonsers has appointed a new
member to its expanding field team.
Following a busy period for the Newark-based company, Bonsers
has taken on 25-year-old Thomas Walker who has more than seven
years' experience in the conservation and refurbishment field.
Thomas, who works in stone restoration, began working in the
field straight from school, and has picked up the skills along the
way.
He said: "I love the work, it is really varied and no two days
are the same. I started working in restoration because of my father
and his background in conservation and am really pleased with my
choice. Bonsers is a fantastic place to work and I am delighted
with the move.
"I am currently working on a project in Birmingham at Congreaves
Hall which is an external restoration development on a grade II
listed property. It has been falling into disrepair, and we are
working on the restoration, decoration and joinery - it is a
fantastic project to be a part of."
Richard Hill, Bonsers operations director, said: "We are
delighted to have Thomas on the team, he has great experience and
we are already enjoying working with him. It is great for Bonsers
to be expanding and employing staff as well at this difficult
time."
Thomas has also just completed The Outlaw Ironman Triathlon
which involves a two-and-a-half mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and
a 26.2 mile run. He said: "It was certainly a challenge - I was in
training all year for it. I think I will probably have another go
next year as now I have got the bug, I like keeping fit."
