Tipton based BHJ UK Protein Foods Limited is representing the
West Midlands at the 'Oscars' of the food and beverage industry as
a finalist in the 28th annual Food Processing Awards
2011.
The meat protein ingredients manufacturer has been shortlisted
as a contender for 'Company of the Year' at the prestigious
industry awards taking place in June.
Organised by Food Processing Magazine, the awards recognise the
achievements of manufacturers working in the food and beverage
industry.
BHJ UK will go head to head with fellow manufacturers WERMA,
Festo and Winkworth Group to win the top title, which was presented
to Bosch Rexroth in 2010.
Richard Parnell sales director of BHJ UK, said: "We're delighted
to be recognised and take our place alongside fellow manufacturing
specialists in the industry.
"To be one of the four finalists in such a fiercely contested
category is a real honour and it is a testament to our success as a
company."
BHJ UK has over 30 years' experience developing functional
proteins for meat manufacturers and it now boasts a vast product
portfolio offering direct benefits such as reduced formulation
costs and improved product texture.
It became the first BQAP-approved producer in its sector in
2007, and 2010 saw it renew the accreditation for its DRINDE range
for the third consecutive year.
Made from 100 per cent British pork product, BQAP DRINDE® is
a versatile functional meat ingredient which helps bind fat and
water while delivering excellent textural properties and value in
pork-based products.
The winners will be revealed at the Food Processing Awards on 23
June 2011 at Hinckley Island Hotel, Leicestershire.
