Tasty new enterprise

Feeling peckish? Then join the foodlovers who will be making a beeline for a  new attraction in Lincoln on Saturday (Feb 5).

The St Mark's Shopping Centre will be hosting the first of a string of fantastic Regional Food Fairs. These are due to take place in the area behind Debenhams, on the first Saturday of every month, and they will be open to shoppers between 9am and 4pm.

And the market - which is the brainchild of Lincoln BIG and the team at  St Mark's, and supported by the European Regional Development Fund - is  poised to get off to a flying start.

Organiser Susan Smith of White House Farm (Foods) Ltd, at Moorby, near Boston,  said: "Seventeen producers have now booked places at the Regional Food Food Fair. Everyone is hoping for a good day's trading and looking forward to  returning throughout the year.

The event, will feature everything from Lincoln Red Beef to free range pork, Lincolnshire Plum Bread, organic vegetables and even handmade dog biscuits and dog cakes, all produce in Lincolnshire or nearby counties.

Lincoln BIG events and promotions manager Michael Armstrong said: "Our traditional High Street and Castle Hill Farmers' Markets are highly popular and we are sure that this addition to our calendar, will really complement those.

"We believe the Regional Food Fair will help to attract more people to St Mark's  and enhance their shopping experience in that part of the city."
