Conference Derbyshire's new 2011 directory - giving the county
five-star billing as a blockbusting location for a wide range of
events - will take centre stage at International Confex, the UK's
leading show for event organisers.
Showcasing the area's leading role as a sought-after film
location and pathfinder Destination of Distinction with national
tourist board VisitEngland, the eco-friendly directory -
exclusively on-line for the first time - will step into the
limelight at Earls Court, London, from March 1 to 3.
Event organisers who visit Conference Derbyshire - the free
venue-finding service and business tourism arm of Visit Peak
District & Derbyshire - on stand B860 will also have the
convenience of picking it up on disk.
Another show-stopper on the Conference Derbyshire stand will be
a free draw offering top quality prizes as part of a
£2,500-plus package that aims to show business visitors the
wide range of experiences and opportunities available across the
county.
The scene-stealing package will feature some of the leading
brands, venues and activities in the area, and will include:
• A luxury weekend break for two in Derby
• One night's bed and breakfast for two in a junior suite
at Chesterfield's new four-star hotel, Casa
• A luxury spa day for four, including lunch, at the
Devonshire Dome
• Alton Towers Resort tickets for four
• A Royal Crown Derby dinner service
• An action-packed day for four hosted by outdoor
activities provider Peak Pursuits - including canoeing, kayaking,
raft building, orienteering, team building, archery, rock
scrambling, climbing and abseiling
• One night's dinner, bed and breakfast for two at
Mickleover Court Hotel in Derby
• Free meeting space for 14 day delegates in the boardroom
at the state-of-the-art Derby Enterprise Centre
"We attended International Confex for the first time in six
years last year, and were impressed by the number of business
enquiries and leads that it generated," said David James, Chief
Executive of Visit Peak District & Derbyshire, who plans to
attend the prestigious event on Thursday March 3.
"This year we're taking the opportunity to launch our 2011
directory - which puts the area's prime assets as the perfect
backdrop for conferences and events of all sorts and sizes, and for
the first time will only be available to download and browse from
our website.
"I'm sure event organisers will appreciate the convenience of
picking up the directory on disk, as well as entering our free
prize draw for the chance to find out more about the wide range of
venues and possibilities our centrally-located and easily
accessible area can offer."
Added Chris Parnham, Managing Director of Derby-based Zibrant,
which works closely with Conference Derbyshire to match business
clients' needs with suitable locations: "We look forward to
maximising all the opportunities that arise from International
Confex to bring as much business tourism to the county as possible
- in the coming year and beyond."
Conference Derbyshire's stand at International Confex will be
run in partnership with the Devonshire Dome in Buxton, Derby
Tourism, Casa Hotel, Peak Pursuits, Mickleover Court Hotel and
Derby Enterprise Centre.
