opening
A new Champagne and wine bar, Blanc et Noir, has opened at
Birmingham Airport as part of a £120k investment by food
travel experts, SSP UK.
Situated in the Departure Lounge airside, the brand is making
its UK debut at Birmingham, which was the perfect choice thanks to
its increasing appeal as a city break for couples and single sex
parties from all walks of life seeking a 'special occasion'.
Wayne Chapman, Brands Director from SSP UK, said: "The opening
of Blanc et Noir Champagne and wine bar at Birmingham Airport is a
key part of our redevelopment of the retail and catering
environment within the terminal. Over the past months SSP UK has
opened the first BK360 design Burger King in a UK airport and Upper
Crust, with a new M&S Simply Food outlet launching this month
as part of a total £1million investment which has created
over 55 jobs.
Offering an exclusive yet accessible experience, Blanc et Noir
has a range of value promotions within an intimate, luxurious
environment. As well as a range of carefully selected Champagnes
and some of the finest wines of the world, it will offer quality
coffees, continental, mezze and cheese platters and open
sandwiches. For a limited time only, customers can enjoy some
'Afternoon Artistry' which includes king prawns, Scottish
smoked salmon, rocket and watercress, buttered artisan sesame bread
and 125ml glass of Albert Beerens Brut Reserve NV Champagne - all
for £16.
Wayne Chapman adds: "We are constantly looking at ways to
connect with and welcome new customers and such an impressive
addition as Blanc et Noir does exactly that, with style. We're very
excited to be able to offer this luxury brand in Birmingham
Airport, and it was thanks to our Birmingham based focus groups who
loved both the concept and prices which made Birmingham Airport the
ideal first choice. A visit to Blanc et Noir creates a real sense
of occasion without being intimidating and helps any journey for
all types of customer."
Richard Gill, Head of Market Development - Commercial, from
Birmingham Airport said: "This concept was the ideal choice for a
range of passengers. Whether it's holidaymakers looking to start
their trip in style or business travellers, we believe the new
Champagne bar will appeal to passengers who are looking for
something a little bit special. The opening of Blanc et Noir is the
latest stage in the £13m terminal redevelopment and it widens
the choice available to passengers seeking refreshment while
waiting to board flights."
