The head of No5 Chambers' Administrative and Public Law
practices and specialist healthcare law barrister, David Lock, is
now a published author. He has written chapters as part of the new
edition of the leading healthcare law book, "Kennedy & Grubb:
Principles of Medical Law". The book is recognised to be the
definitive text on medical law, and is relied upon by Judges,
lawyers and doctors to explain the law in this complex area.
David Lock was asked to contribute chapters on the law relating
to consent to treatment, one of which he wrote alone and another
jointly with Sir James Munby, a Judge in the Court of Appeal. The
book is published by Oxford University Press.
Head of No5 Chambers, Paul Bleasdale QC, said: "It is a great
honour for any barrister to be asked to write chapters for such a
prestigious book. Being an author of Kennedy & Grubb shows that
David is one of the leading healthcare lawyers in the country."
David Lock regularly produces papers on his areas of expertise
which he delivers at seminars and contributes to publications such
as New Law Journal.
Speaking of his work on "Kennedy & Grubb: Principles of
Medical Law", David said: "As a barrister specialising in
healthcare law, I have used Kennedy & Grubb frequently in
practice. I was therefore delighted to be asked to write chapters
as part of the new edition, which allowed me the chance to further
broaden my knowledge of this complex subject and to understand how
healthcare law operates in an international legal setting."
