A group which encourages the growth and development of young
professionals in the area has appointed a new chair.
Coventry and Warwickshire First's Young Professionals Group has
appointed Michelle Vincent, of Harrison Beale and Owen, as chair in
place of the departing Cameron Thomson, from Shortland Horne.
The group is a diverse business network, launched to encourage
the growth and development of members while promoting future
leadership within local property, legal, finance and business
service sectors.
"I am delighted to be taking up this position and I am looking
forward to the challenges ahead," said Vincent.
"It can be quite intimidating for the younger generation of
professionals to attend networking events and seminars where those
who attend are pre-dominantly senior business figures and company
partners.
"Our group allows younger professionals to network and establish
long term contact with people at a similar point on the career
ladder to themselves."
The group was formed in 2007 and has a 10-strong committee which
organise regular networking events and seminars for young
professionals based across the sub-region. So far it has attracted
over 100 members and is continuing to grow.
Philip Costigan, chair of Coventry and Warwickshire First and
partner at Coventry solicitors Band Hatton, said: "The Young
Professionals Group plays a valuable role in helping to develop the
successful careers of talented young professionals in our
region.
"Cameron Thomson has done a fantastic job in his role as chair
but we know that Michelle is a more than able successor and that
the future of the group is in safe hands.
"She is very enthusiastic and we are delighted to have her in
this role. I am certain she will play a vital role in helping the
group continue to be a great success."
