Martineau offers digital training for HR professionals

Birmingham and London law firm Martineau has launched a range of training packages aimed at educating HR professionals about the realities of employment tribunals.

Tailored specifically to suit a variety of budget and training needs, the three flexible packages will each provide valuable insights into the procedures surrounding employment tribunals, with the addition of a specially produced role-play tribunal DVD providing useful hints and tips.

A realistic, yet light-hearted portrayal of a complete tribunal, the DVD will assist its viewers with tackling a number of key issues, including how to address other participants and what the layout of the room should be. It also highlights what makes a good witness and the pitfalls that witnesses should avoid falling into.

Jane Byford, Head of the Employment Group at Martineau commented: "For many workplaces employment tribunals are very complex affairs, with a great deal of misconception still surrounding the inherent intricacies involved in conducting them.

"The 'mock' tribunal DVD is a tool which will help to dispel any confusion and offer clarity in what can be a difficult and sensitive situation. We do however, understand that every organisation is different, so by offering three versions of the accompanying training package we can provide a flexible and cost effective solution to training needs."

The first of the three packages available is a practical workshop fronted by a member Martineau's Employment Group, during which up to 20 delegates will be encouraged to practice their own skills through a series of role-plays.

The second option provides a full-day 'Train the Trainer' session where up-to five members of staff will be guided through all the information necessary to enable them to train their colleagues using the DVD.

The final package includes the DVD and training notes, which can be utilised by a workplace's internal facilitator to guide delegates through the tribunal process.

The tribunal packages are the first in a number of employment training schemes developed by Martineau, with another covering sickness and grievance procedures scheduled for release later this year.
