Affordable housing and regeneration specialist Lovell Midlands
has committed to continue its investment in apprentices despite the
challenging economic conditions. The company has given the official
Apprenticeship Week its wholehearted backing, and has outlined
plans to add to the current 16 apprentices currently working in the
Midlands region, with two new apprentices in Stoke to be the latest
new recruits.
Regional Director of Lovell Midlands David Gough commented:
"Throughout the recession and the continuing challenging
business environment, we have never stopped recruiting apprentices.
Not only are they the lifeblood of the company and its future, but
many of them come from communities that we are regenerating and
therefore play a vital part in making that regeneration happen. We
look forward to welcoming many more talented and committed
apprentices this year and beyond."
Lovell's apprenticeships are unique. Apprentices complete all
their formal learning at the residential Lovell Craft Academy at
Stephenson College, Leicester. This intensive way of learning
produces remarkable results: the Craft Academy has completion rates
of 86%, while the national average is 70%.
