Midlands law firm Challinors, which has an office in
Wolverhampton city centre, is backing a fundraising Quiz for
professionals in the city, in aid of the Beacon Centre for the
Blind.
The Beacon Centre for the Blind provides a wide range of
services for people of all ages living with sight loss in the West
Midlands.
Local law firm Challinors has devised the Quiz Night which takes
place on Friday 25th March 2011 to support the Centre's fundraising
efforts.
The Quiz will be held at the Beacon Centre on Wolverhampton Road
East, which has been recently redeveloped to provide state of the
art facilities to meet the increasing needs of the regions visually
impaired.
As the Centre's Marketing & Development Officer Kate
Fletcher explains, fundraising support from local businesses is
vital:
"The Centre relies heavily on funds raised in the local
community. Fundraising partnerships like that we have with
Challinors, a respected and local law firm, are valued very highly
by the Centre.
"We are hoping that the quiz will raise in the region of
£1000, which will be used to help support our IT training
project for visually impaired people in this area. With
government and industry expanding ever faster into digital-only
services, Beacon Centre wants to ensure the visually-impaired and
those in this area with other disabilities are not denied the
opportunity to learn essential IT skills."
Challinors' Nigel Sellar, a Partner at the firm, adds: "The work
of the Beacon Centre and the support it provides to the visually
impaired across Wolverhampton and the region, is exceptional. As a
local employer and business, Challinors is keen to lend a hand
whenever and however it can, and the Quiz night presents the ideal
vehicle to raise invaluable funds for the Centre, whilst being a
fun night for the city's business and professional community, in
aid of a worthy and local cause."
Entry to the Quiz costs just £10 per person with a maximum
of four in each team, and includes a hot supper. For more
