The Wills and probate department at Coventry and Warwickshire
based Alsters Kelley Solicitors, have raised £1,850 for
Will Aid by drafting Wills in return for a client donation, waiving
their usual legal fees. The nationwide campaign that supports nine
national and international charities including Save the Children,
Sightsavers and Age UK took place in November and the
donation results have finally been announced.
Neil Raiseborough, Partner and Head of Private Client said: "
the Wills and Probate department have worked very hard across all
offices in Coventry, Nuneaton and Leamington, to raise funds for
Will Aid with the aspiration to top our previous total of
£1,075, which we have done.
Mr Raiseborough added: "Being able to help by donating
professional time and expertise is a unique experience as a
charitably minded firm that usually fundraises by other means, and
it is great to see so many local people writing their Wills, saving
their families and loved ones from the possibility of
intestacy".
According to Will Aid Campaign Manager, Shirley Marsland, the
Will Aid total is set to become the largest to date,
currently topping £1.5 million.
She commented: "We have been really impressed with the effort
that Alsters Kelley Solicitors and the other participating firms
have put into Will Aid 2010. In these challenging economic times,
it is particularly impressive that the legal profession is willing
to give such tremendous support to a charity campaign".
