Innes England has become the first business in Nottingham to join the supporters programme for Nottingham Contemporary.

The Midlands leading property agent is the first Business Benefactor of the Nottingham contemporary art centre, and aims to lead the way and encourage other local businesses to show support to arts in the city.

The new supporter's scheme is aimed at ensuring that the benefits of an international art gallery can be shared by everyone who lives and works in the city. With the support of local businesses, such as Innes England, the gallery will be able to continue to run an ambitious and wide-ranging learning programme with schools, universities and community groups.

Since it opened in November 2009, the landmark development has attracted 300,000 visitors and is a key fixture in the city's cultural offering. It also brought around £8.7 million to the local economy in its first year.

The exclusive scheme will see Innes England receive VIP invitations to exhibition openings and exclusive networking opportunities in 'backstage' areas, as well as the chance to use the facilities to entertain clients and gain discounts and priority bookings on the hire of the gallery's unique spaces.

Alex Farquharson, director at Nottingham Contemporary says: "We are delighted to announce that Innes England has become our very first Business Benefactor. Innes England is an influential presence in Nottingham and the East Midlands, the city and region we ourselves serve, and we look forward to this new association and to welcoming Innes England employees and clients to our spaces".

Tim Garratt of Innes England says: "We are delighted to be the first business to join the sponsors programme at the Contemporary - this gallery has become a very important part of Nottingham Life. The gallery is also an iconic building in the city, and has done a lot in terms of raising the profile of property design and development in the region."

"Art plays a key part of the fabric of a city and the Contemporary has achieved fantastic profile for Nottingham - we wanted to be part of the success and make sure it continues"

There are a number of packages available for either individual supporters or companies of varying sizes.
