A Sutton Coldfield home care agency is celebrating its first
year of trading.
Care Companions Ltd, which is based on the High Street in Sutton
Coldfield, was established by Sushila Patel in early 2010 and
provides care and companionship for people who need support to
remain independent in their own homes.
The company has specialisms in dementia and learning
disabilities and provides a variety of care packages ranging from
regular hourly visits to all night care to clients across Sutton
Coldfield including Four Oaks and Little Aston.
The last twelve months have seen Care Companions take on
significant growth and quickly develop a reputation for providing
high quality professional care, culminating in a "Great British
Care Award" in the last quarter of 2010.
Company director Sushila Patel commented: "I was absolutely
appalled when I saw the BBC Programme 'Can Gerry Robinson Fix
Dementia Care Homes'. I felt there had to be a better way for
people to spend the latter part of their lives. Gerry brought in
David Sheard of Dementia Care Matters Ltd, to turn around these
failing care homes. I am part way through a year long diploma in
Person Centred Dementia Care with David Sheard, who understands how
to provide the best care possible to people suffering from
Alzheimers or other forms of dementia.
"I'm delighted to be celebrating the agency's first year of
trading, as we have managed to establish ourselves relatively
quickly during a tough economic climate."
The agency has ambitious expansion plans and is looking to
recruit fifteen care staff by the end of 2011.
