Hodgson Elkington LLP the Lincoln based firm of chartered
surveyors won the prestigious "Supporting the Community Award" at
the Lincolnshire Business Awards event in Lincoln.
Fighting off stiff competition from the Lincolnshire YMCA, RAF
Waddington International Air show and the Gelder Group Apprentice
Scheme, they triumphed through the Junior Sports Programme that the
company set up some 4 years ago.
The Junior Sports Programme set up by Hodgson Elkington as a
registered Charitable Trust draws sponsorship from both
Hodgson Elkington and other sources including their established
client base.
The Sports Programme developed over the past 4 years centres on
the sponsorship of local Junior Sport through clubs, schools and
individuals. Sports currently assisted range from football,
cricket, rugby, hockey, tennis to cross channel swimming. Pop
lacrosse and tri-golf are amongst recent sports sponsored by the
charitable trust.
"It was tremendous to be awarded with first prize at the
Business Awards. We knew we were against some very stiff
competition and to come out victorious was a tremendous
achievement," said Hodgson Elkington, senior partner, Sam
Elkington.
"It has been really rewarding for us to be recognised in this
manner. The Charitable Trust is set up to benefit youngsters
throughout Lincolnshire and East Nottinghamshire and as a firm,
Hodgson Elkington channel all their donations through this
programme. With the support of clients and other donors we have
been able to award in excess of £20,000.00 to local sporting
groups and individuals throughout our area," said partner Stephen
Bradford who is administrator for the charity.
