Jobseekers in Coventry are being given the opportunity get a
step ahead of their competition at a city centre careers event.
Next Step, the adult careers and skills service, is running a
free CV and interview skills workshop at Central Library, from 10am
until 1pm on Wednesday, February 16.
People can book a free consultation with a Next Step adviser for
help with interviews, CV development and completing application
forms.
Next Step adviser Martin Tallis is organising this event, and
hopes the experience he has gained from over 30 years in the
business world can benefit those who attend.
Martin says: "With jobs particularly hard to come by at the
moment it is increasingly important to be clear in what you are
doing when applying for a position.
"Throughout my career I have dealt with many different types of
people, in a range of business environments. Now, working as a Next
Step adviser, I am in a position to make the most my experience and
share information that can help people succeed in their search for
employment.
"The whole day is free to attend and there will be the chance
for one-to-one chats as well as group workshops and resources to
take away with you.
"This is a great opportunity to sit down with somebody who is
experienced in this field and people have nothing to lose by
attending as it is free! If people who attend take away one small
thing that helps them get a job, then I have also succeeded."
