Former England captain and World Cup winner Mike Catt met around
50 businesses at a networking lunch in the city.
The backs coach at London Irish took part in a questions and
answers session at Yorkshire Bank's Financial Solutions Centre
(FSC) in Temple Row with local accountants, solicitors, lawyers,
chartered surveyors and charities.
The utility back, who came on as substitiute in England's
thrilling 20-17 victory over Australia to lift the World Cup in
2003, also led a team-building session with Yorkshire Bank
staff.
Brian Colquhoun, regional director at Yorkshire Bank, said the
Yorkshire Bank ambassador had answered a wide varity of questions
on his playing and coaching career.
"It was a well attended event and our members, local
professionals and potential members asked some excellent
questions," he said.
"Mike was honest and open with his answers which was really
refreshing and we all gained an insight into the life of a top
professional sportsman.
"Mike then led two sessions with staff which highlighted how his
experiences on a rugby field could be translated into a business
environment.
"He also spoke about the importance of making the most of the
strengths of each individual within a team to the maximum effect
and that people's skills can be improved with training.
"Our staff thoroughly enjoyed the get-together and Mike is a
fantastic ambassador for his sport and the bank."
