Discretion wins Consultants two new contracts

A Shropshire based business consultancy has signed two new contracts which, despite involving diverse industries, share a common thread.

In both cases The Business Company, which is based near Shrewsbury, have been engaged to dispose of the business on behalf of the directors who want to retire.

First to go on the market is a purpose built 3-star, 40-bed, Care Quality Commission rated Care Home in the West Midlands that comes with planning permission for further accommodation. The Home offers palliative end of life care as well as residential, nursing and respite care.

The second business is a Midlands based specialist components manufacturing and assembly business which trades extensively with the Far East.

Ellen Morley, Principal of The Business Company, said:

"Many owners looking to exit a business will rely on an agent and a "shop window" to sell it. Often this achieves less than maximum value and leaves the vendor in limbo focusing on when a buyer will materialise, rather than on running the business and maintaining profitability. A public sales platform can also cause unrest among staff. This is why our clients chose a more discreet tailored service."

The scope of work undertaken by The Business Company will include examining all facets of the businesses to uncover unexploited potential that could expand the sale offer and increase their value. They will then develop a detailed information pack to show how such potential can be achieved and oversee finances and budgets in the interim to ensure the plan is being adhered to and the track record can be proven. After researching the market, handpicking prospective targets and putting together detailed information packs, they will ensure serious contenders are identified and manage the whole of the negotiation process on their clients' behalf.
