The developers behind the Business Village concept which has
locations in the Cotswolds have purchased John Bryant & Sons
Ltd for £2.057 million.
John Bryant & Sons Ltd was formerly a car trader operating
from Bryant House, a 2.13 acre site on a prominent site off
Washford Drive in Redditch.
Tony Gaymond and Harry Acland of Business Village were advised
by Warwickshire law firm Lodders on the acquisition and the vendors
of John Bryant & Sons Ltd were advised by chartered surveyors
Bigwood acting jointly with business property agent John
Truslove.
The site houses a 24 hour BP petrol station, Budgens convenience
store and office space totalling 20,600 sq ft. It is home to
Wolseley's Plumb Centre, Express Factors and the regional office
for Enterprise Rent-a-Car Ltd. Within Bryant House itself, there
are currently two floors of vacant office space.
Business Village was behind the development of Cotswold Business
Village in Moreton-on-Marsh and Shipston Business Village in
Shipston-on-Stour.
Lodders partner Victor Matts, head of the firm's Business Group,
said: "This is a key site in a strategic location on the edge of
Redditch, giving both access to local markets and the national
motorway network. It therefore suits a wide variety of business
uses and we are pleased to have advised Tony Gaymond and Harry
Acland on their latest acquisition."
Tony Gaymond of Business Village Ltd said: "We are now
considering our options to assess how we can maximise the use of
the Bryant House site by enhancing its current commercial and
retail use to improve local services. This is a significant
acquisition for us and we are pleased to have added the property to
our portfolio."
