APC Overnight is doubling the size of its next day delivery
services capability in Bristol with a move to a larger depot. The
new APC distribution centre, which is owned and managed by APC
Priority Express, will allow customers to take advantage of later
collections for overnight sortation and next morning delivery
throughout the UK. This major investment in new warehousing and
distribution facilities is the result of year-on-year business
growth and will extend APC's service offerings in south-west
England.
"We considered an out-of-town depot, but the new location keeps
us in the heart of Bristol, allowing us to provide later
collections for our customers to better suit the needs of their
business. APC Priority Express customers can confidently extend
their selling hours and their customers will still receive their
orders the following day. This large investment gives us capacity
to cope with an increasing number of deliveries we are handling for
APC Overnight and will also help us to maintain the highest levels
of service for our customers," says Neil Havill, Managing Director
at APC Priority Express.
The company is also investing in new materials handling
equipment for the opening of the new site and will continue its
investment in cutting-edge IT and telephony systems. The building
itself will be co-branded giving APC Overnight high visibility to
the surrounding businesses in the busy St Philips industrial
zone.
Neil Havill added: "We have continued to grow the business by
more than 10 per cent each year and this is the case with many of
our associated depots throughout the national APC Overnight
network. Our aim is to ensure that we are always in a position to
provide service excellence to our network partners and our
customers. As demand grows, we will continue to invest in
additional resources, including staff and more vehicles when
necessary. We are very proud of our association with APC Overnight
and expect to see continued growth in the coming years, despite the
difficult economic climate."
