Property and construction consultancy Wakemans has been
commissioned by the charitable housing association Cymdeithas Tai
Eryri to advise on the development of a £1.1million
enterprise centre in Botwnnog, north Wales.
Wakemans is acting as employer's agent and are utilising the
expertise in their Birmingham office to act as BREEAM consultant
and assessor. The enterprise centre has been designed and specified
in accordance with the BREEAM 'excellent' requirements as required
by the Welsh Assembly Governments for any public funded
buildings.
"The new enterprise centre sets a high visual standard and will
demonstrate how quality sustainable buildings, which are in keeping
with a rural setting and do not detract from the local character,
can be developed," says Wakemans associate director Dylan
Morris.
The new complex will incorporate offices, workshops, two
computer suites, a conference room and a café for use by the
local community of Botwnnog on the Lleyn Peninsula. The scheme is
being part funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, the Welsh
European Funding Office and private funding by the client
Cymdeithas Tai Eryri.
The scheme is currently under construction and expected to be
complete by May 2011.
