Whether it's outrage about AA Gill's negative quips about
Nottingham, or whether it's a rallying message to businesses in the
East Midlands, property expert Tim Garratt's blog always hits the
right note - and now it's been shortlisted for an award.
Tim, director at Innes England in Nottingham, is a prolific
blogger - writing between 20 and 30 blogs a month. He comments on a
range of issues from high speed rail to the property showcase MIPIM
in Cannes.
Now Tim's blog has been nominated for the BE2 Awards 2011 - said
to be the first awards for social media recognising blogs in the
world of property.
Tim's blog is in the running for the award because of its
"lively, engaging and original content".
Tim, who writes many blogs about Nottingham and its virtues,
says he is thrilled that the blog has been shortlisted.
"I really enjoy writing it," he says. "I hope people find it
entertaining or useful - it's all about property, and me being a
grumpy old man! I tend to write about a range of things, some of
which are serious property issues - or I highlight good news
property stories for the region, such as Jamie Oliver's restaurant
opening soon.
"I was able to really blow my top on my blog when AA Gill
recently wrote untrue things about Nottingham and trying to show
the city in a bad light. For me, the blog is a great way to let off
steam."
Tim will find out if he has won a BE2 award on 9 February at a
ceremony at the Building Centre, London.
