Great news for Salwarpe-based Churchfields Farmhouse Ice Cream as it is supplying a selection of its innovative flavoured ice cream range to over 20 Midcounties Co-Operative retail outlets.

Selected Midcounties Co-Operative food stores in Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershire are now stocking Churchfields as an alternative local offering. The range on offer includes award-winning Orange with Grand Marnier, Toffee Fudge and Walnut and Maple Syrup flavour ice creams.

Churchfields is well known for its innovative ice cream flavours, with its unique Seriously Stilton ice cream and other more traditional recipes such as Vanilla having won several prestigious food awards.

The company has received tremendous success and acclaim supplying farm shops, delis, pubs and restaurants across Worcestershire but in the last year or so, its customer base is expanding rapidly throughout the West Midlands. Churchfields own particular brand of ice cream continues to be much in demand locally but is now increasing its brand presence to a much wider consumer audience.

With a constant supply of milk from their herd of pedigree cows, Churchfields has a distinct advantage over many well known luxury brands as it is literally fresh from the dairy. Using a carefully judged mix of milk and cream, gives the ice cream a thick, creamy unique texture and flavour as it is made without any artificial additives.

Gillian Kerton, runs the ice cream production side of the business says: "We are so thrilled to be part of the Midcounties Co-Operative supply chain. As a small supplier we think it says something about the quality of our product, but more importantly the way the Co-Operative really does stand by its ethical values such as its commitment to sustainable practices and food provenance.

"As a large food retailer the Midcounties Co-Operative is demonstrating its support to local economies and business by choosing to work with small producers championing taste and quality. Churchfields Ice Cream is distributed via Heart Distribution, part of Heart of England Fine Foods (HEFF) which has been working with the retailer in promoting locally sourced food."
