A Hereford 'back to work' team have made a significant
difference to a high number of the long termed unemployed living in
the county who they have helped back to work.
St Owen Street based Pertemps People Development Group (PPDG)
have guided 223 adults, who had been unemployed for a minimum of a
year, into work over the last 13 months through the government
backed Flexible New Deals scheme. A total of 150 PPDG customers
have returned to work in the last six months.
"The figures outlined demonstrate the tremendous strides made by
PPDG in supporting those customers who are particularly
disadvantaged in the local labour market," explained PPDGs Hereford
manager John Hall.
"Through our diagnostic tools, we identify an individual journey
for customers that not only provides confidence building and
motivation but enhances their skills, whilst generating employment
opportunities within the local labour market."
