A leading Black Country tax expert has held a 'tax surgery' for
pensioners across the Dudley area - a free service available to
those with a household income of £17,000 or less.
Steven Holden, Associate and Tax & Trust Manager at
Halesowen-based mfg Solicitors, visited Age UK's offices at
Birdcage Walk, Dudley, on Tuesday 14th December.
Steven commented: "As a firm we're proud to be active within the
community and devote a lot of time in the hope of having a positive
effect. For us it's all about showing our backing to local people,
giving accurate, professional advice and most importantly, being
accessible. That is why these tax surgeries are a great idea. It
takes us into the heart of the towns like Dudley and infront of
people in a place where they're comfortable and relaxed. " We
hold four tax surgeries across the Black Country every year and
each one is extremely successful. Those who booked appointments
with us for this surgery were able to get guidance on a range of
tax issues and we were only too happy to be out lending our
support."
The appointment-only surgery was organised and co-ordinated by
independent charity, Tax Help for Older People (TOP) who also work
closely with mfg Solicitors.
Nearly 20 pensioners from the Dudley area made appointments to
meet with Steven to discuss their personal tax issues.
