NHBC Supreme Award, marking his third consecutive win
Tony Armson, a site manager at Loughborough-based contractor and
developer William Davis Ltd, has made history at the National House
Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards by winning his
third consecutive Supreme Award.
In an awards dinner at London's Park Plaza hotel, Tony was
announced as the 2010 winner in the medium category* for his work
on the William Davis private housing development of Cawston Fields,
Rugby. The Supreme Awards are the culmination of the nationwide
Pride in the Job competition, which celebrated its 30th anniversary
in 2010, and recognise the very best site managers from across the
UK. Earlier in the year, Tony was announced as the West regional
winner and automatically qualified for the Supreme Awards, where he
was defending champion in his category.
Speaking after the ceremony, Tony said: "To be the first site
manager in the history of the competition to achieve a hat trick of
Supreme Awards in this category was completely unexpected but I am
thrilled with the result. These awards demonstrate that even in
tough times, quality does not have to be comprised and new homes
can still be built to high standards. I feel I must acknowledge the
support of everyone at William Davis but especially all the team on
site, without whom I would not have won this award."
The judges commented that each year Tony consistently increases
the standard on his site, and is constantly looking for ways to
improve. The internal finishes of this development are sharp and
crisp, proving that care and attention has really been observed.
Tony's site shows high standards across all trades on site, and it
is clear that his team pulls together to achieve high standards and
success.
NHBC Chief Executive, Imtiaz Farookhi, said: "For 30 years,
Pride in the Job has been recognising and rewarding site managers
who consistently build to high standards. Despite the challenging
period which still surrounds the industry, these builders have
maintained and once again exceeded the exceptional standards seen
in previous years."
