Nottingham-based oriental food specialist Asiana yesterday
opened its new delicatessen bar in its city centre food store to
give customers an authentic Eastern alternative to traditional
nibbles and finger food. Asiana is going from strength to strength
as the new deli bar comes only weeks after the opening of its new
fish counter.
Indian and Chinese inspired delights are on offer at the deli
bar, including hand-cooked samosas, spring rolls, chutneys and
pickles. All of the Indian food is cooked at Asiana's Nimboo
restaurant in Beeston, while the Chinese food is catered by local
suppliers.
Sam Sangha, owner and managing director of Asiana Ltd, comments:
"Shopping habits are constantly changing and people increasingly
look for pre-made and time-saving foods. Our new deli bar is
perfect for those wishing to pick up a quick bite to eat, or for
those who are hosting a party and who would like some tasty treats
for their guests."
Customers can try before they buy and Asiana's store staff are
on hand to offer their knowledge and advice about what foods are on
offer and what works best with them as an accompaniment. Customers
can also re-create what they find at the deli bar as all
ingredients are sold in-store.
"The deli bar is situated at the front of the store, so when
people walk into the shop they can take in the wonderful smells of
spices. We wanted to create a deli bar that is about quality, taste
and enjoying food, while offering something a little bit different,
which is something I think we have achieved."
Asiana's Nottingham store is located at the bottom of the
Woodborough Road and is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm and
Sundays, 11am to 5pm.
