Multi award winning Octavian Security, which operates from Pride
Park in Derby, has been named in the top 25 per cent of UK security
companies accredited by the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS).
The scheme, operated by the Security Industry Authority (SIA),
is designed to heighten performance standards and help the private
security industry to develop new opportunities, while better
serving the needs of the customer.
As part of the ACS audit, Octavian was assessed on 89 individual
indicators of achievement. Octavian's overall score places it
firmly in the top quarter of UK security companies.
"As a business, we have incredibly high performance standards,"
commented Tony Mellor, Octavian's commercial director. "It's
therefore hugely rewarding for the whole team that this has been
recognised within the ACS audit.
"Out of 1,350 companies that operate in the security field, just
650 are registered with ACS. Taking that into account, we actually
now sit close to the top 10 per cent of security firms in the UK as
a whole.
"Octavian already has a reputation for quality and best practice
in the security industry and these results show that we are
constantly striving to offer our clients the best level of service
possible."
Octavian's ACS accreditation comes at the end of a highly
successful 12 months for the company. 2010 saw the launch of
Octavian Security USA, as well as the gaining of accolades for
Responsible Business Practices and Overall Supplier of the Year,
awarded by MSDUK, the organisation that promotes ethnic minority
businesses.
